Virtual Worlds...

I still have absolutely no idea what I'm going to be doing for my Virtual Worlds module and won't be getting a PA2 until I go back... Hence I've decided to chuck some ideas together for preperation. This particular picture shows the progression of a new art style which I want to use for it...

I Heart Second Life

For my Digital A-G module, I will be giving a presentation tomorrow in which I will be tackling the problems caused by the End User License Agreement in Second Life. In order to illustrate (and possibly humour those who care to watch it) the issues of Avatar rights over Virtual Assets, I have made a small movie... Enjoy.

My game can be downloaded at this location:

Instructions:

Unzip the File

Run EXE.

Controls

The game's controls are pretty simple, just point and click and interact with the objects around the game world. The different icons suggest talking, walking and interacting and pretty much speaks for itself.

And For Good Measure...

... here's another image.

This time the front and back image of Zoe, prior to being pixellated. All of my images have been drawn firstly by hand (or doodled in the back of my notepad during Lectures - Sorry!) then imported into Adobe Photoshop where I have cleaned them up and coloured them in using vectors and my Wacom Graphics Tablet. Next time I plan on using Corel Painter X since the brushes are far more natural.

Animation... Erm... How's That Done?

More truth... I have never animated anything in my life or have ever planned on doing any. However, since my character is required to move about on screen I have had to try. This is my first ever (but highly simplistic) walk rotation. I'm hoping next time I do it I have more time to add more frames and create more natural body movement. The one I currently have is unfortunately very static, I hope to improve on this next time I do this.
